FURTHER RESTORATIONS

Aside from veteran, vintage and classic cars our company was called upon to restore part of the Bodleian Library, the main research library of the University of Oxford. Removing dirt and worn varnish from Victorian times, we worked to return the room to its original condition. Stripping the room back to its earliest wood, our team applied French polish followed by coats of protective beeswax.

AN ICONIC ROOM

Designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor in the 18th century, the Clarendon Building originally contained the presses used by the Oxford University Press. Later, the room hosted members who voted on which books were to be published. As just the third team of craftsmen to work in the room since its construction, we worked carefully to transform it into a bright, usable space.

PASSIONATE ASSISTANCE

Nicholas Hawksmoor was a student of Christopher Wren, the architect of St. Paul's Cathedral. Given the room's history, our renovation was a fascinating project to attend. Many interesting details, such as old ventilation shafts, were brought back to life through our capable assistance.
